Hike for those with CF

Kin Canada has a long history of supporting Cystic Fibrosis Canada as one of their national Partners. Since 1964, when children with CF weren't expected to live past four years of age, Kin members have raised more then 50 million dollars for research and patient care. Today children with CF are often living into their mid-50s or longer!

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition that causes severe damage to the lungs, digestive system, and other organs. The defective gene causes the body to generate sticky, thick mucus, sweat, and digestive juices. This makes daily life incredibly difficult and exercise even more difficult.

Partnering with The Adventure Bus Tours Company we will be hiking for those who can't, or who are limited by CF. The hike is by donation and all funds raised will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada to help fund research in the spirit of their partnership with Kin. The Adventure Bus guides will provide general guidance on the trail, direction, and ensure the group's safety.

The hike at Berman Lake is a fairly gentle approximately 4km loop that will take us from lakeside to hilltop. The forested trail has general trail hazards of slippery ground, exposed root systems, and the risk of falling. Water and snacks will be provided. There is a short but steep slope to be climbed. Information on Cystic Fibrosis will also be available for review.
